Another note for self.

April 15th, 2007 by ftanjono

Dear Self,

it is nearly done, the crunch time very very near. I hope I can be able to go through.
To persevere will be the key, with enough rest and wisdom.

Only time will tell,

brief note to Self

April 9th, 2007 by ftanjono

Dear self,

I am not a good talker or a conversationist.
When I am around my friends, I always felt this utter emptiness of the inability in conversing with friends.
I always felt that I need one of the funny punch line to start a chat, usually it deflates almost immediately…
I hope
someday someone cal fill this emptiness of mine.

Thank you for listening,

memory of my house

February 11th, 2007 by ftanjono

What are house to you?

For me it is more then just a structure,
It contains all of the memory I had living in it, becoming part of me.
If the wall could sing,
it will sing the song
of my childhood, growing up, of the good old days when my mom and dad is still young.

When my house is gone, that part of my life will be lost forever, never to come back.
Only in the confine of my memory I can be able to go back
to my house.

world stage

September 21st, 2006 by ftanjono

On the stage of the world,
You can just look forward.
beware of the devil’s word,
which will pull you downward.

On the stage of the world,
Do not look so down.
Before you, your destiny will be unfurled,
Be a jester, be a clown.

Be whatever you want to be.

Birthday girl

March 20th, 2006 by ftanjono

To the birthday girl,
Today is a joyous day,
May your face sparkle like pearl.
Like what the father above want you to potray.

To the birthday girl,
You have come a long way,
Now, before you, your destiny will unfurl,
Move forward regardless of any dissarray.

I am fortunate to have you as my friend,
Thank you.

Light

Light
By: Felix Tanjono

Firstly, remember this,
Do not be afraid of the dark,
Believe in the light of your heart,
Secondly, do not let the oblivion leave you with lasting mark,
just let it depart.

Long Lasting and pure
It is what gave courage to the weak.
Let it guide you to find the cure,
For the shadow in you.
Do not fear.

Lastly, see us as your light, your friends,
You will never walk alone anymore.

———————————————————————————————————————–
Note from the author:
Light and darkness will always be opposite, good against evil, strong against wise. I create this piece in hope that each of us will find the little bit of light in our heart, even when the situation around us seems to be hopeless. Always believe.

Valentine

Valentine
By: Felix Tanjono

The road may be long,
if you are lonely just sing a song,
reminding us when we are together.
Keep these memories alive and strive for the better.

The road may be long,
But please let all your worries begone.
Smile is the best gesture one can give,
so put it on everytime before you leave.

Remember from those times,
For love will always be kind.
———————————————————————————————————————–
Note from the author:
The above poem is created in the eve of valentine, where love is in the air. But many people around the world have never found love, many of them are subjected to oppression of love. This poem is dedicated to the one who lost their ability to love. May the kindness of love touch their heart.

A small plead

A small plead
By: Felix Tanjono

“The war to end all war.”
would we ever have one?
Is this what our existance is for?
How can it even be fun?

“The war to end all war.”
That is what they say about World War One.
But sadly there is more.
Must we see more guns?

Please let the white dove soar.
To bring the war to end all war.

———————————————————————————————————————–

Note from the author:
I created this poem in reponse to the current world even that is happening all around the world. The instability that is tearing through country to country like blazing fire. Even today, many people see that war is the only way to fight against a terrorist or evil but they forget one thing, that there is no winner in a war, there is onlt casualties (innocent or people taking part in the war), there is nothing to be proud of in war. Who have the rights to take away someone else’ life? Nobody knows. I just hope that in the near future that one day, everything can be resolved through peace, while it may be hard to do so, nothing can make a citizens happier when their leader is doing the right thing.

“The people should not be afraid of the government, the government should be afraid of the people” (from V for Vendetta).

A depression

A depression
By: Felix Tanjono

Hello friend,
Are you there?
I have something to share.

What am I thinking?
I ask you my friend,
Am I self-destructing?
What am I doing here then?

What am I thinking?
Can you please tell me?
emptiness is not a pleasent feeling.
I doubt if I can be free.

Are you still there?
Please don’t hang up on me…
I still have more to share.

Neighbour then smell something strange,
Police break in, suspicious around.
Silence…, red stain…
His cold fake smile can be seen on the ground.

Can anyone understand him?
Nobody knows

Note from the author:
While the above poem take on a serious and sad note, I hope that by putting such issue into pen and paper (and then to the web), the world will start to realise the real issue of depression. A person with depression is hard to detect, he/she is like a ticking time bomb. They feel that there is no one in the world who love them or make friends with them. With care, these people can be drawn out of such sad state. May this world be a better place for everybody.
